In this video from a 2012 TEDxYouth@Maitama event in Abuja, Nigeria uploaded a few days ago, governor of Nigeria's Central Bank, Sanusi Lamido takes on the issues most responsible for Nigeria's downward spiral over the years. Citing examples of corrupt individuals in the Nigerian corporate sector that had been brought to justice, Sanusi identified vested interest and the untouchable nature of certain persons as reasons for his country's lack of progress. “We don’t have development because vested interests continue to rape this country and continue to take the money out,” he said during the powerful 18-minute talk.
