The perhaps overhyped music video for Davido's most recent viral sensation, Skelewu, made a huge splash on the Internet this week. Directed by Moe Musa and shot on location in London, the almost four-minute clip borrows from the video accompanying American electronic dance music duo LMFAO's 2011 smash hit, Party Rock Anthem (and by extension, Danny Boyle's 2002 post-apocalyptic zombie spectacle, 28 Days Later), exploring the similar visual theme of an epidemic whose prime symptom is the irrepressible urge to dance.
There's nothing particularly groundbreaking about the visual, but it gets points for attempting to step away from the cliches of the typical Nigerian music video.
