Formerly known as the Oxford Student Scholarship, the Reach Oxford Scholarship is offered to students from low-icome countires who for financial/political reasons or lack of access to educational facilities cannot study for a degree in their home countries.

The Reach Oxford Scholarship is for fresh undergraduate students in all fields of study apart from medecine. Not all colleges in the University of Oxford are able to offer Reach Oxford Scholarships every year. Students accepted by a college that is not participating in the scheme will not be prevented from applying for and being awarded a scholarship. Successful applicants will be transferred between colleges.
This scheme is only suitable for candidates of the highest academic ability who have outstanding examination results. However, financial need and social commitment are also major criteria for selection. Applicants should be intending to return to their country of ordinary residence following their studies.
The scholarship is for 3-4 years, covering university and college fees, a grant for living expenses and one return air fare per year.
How To Apply
Candidates must first apply for admission into the University of Oxford through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) before October 15, 2013.
Scholarship applications for 2014 entry will open in December 2013 and close in February 2014 (exact dates to be confirmed). Applications from candidates who have not been offered a place at Oxford University will not be considered.
Additional Information
  • Scholars will be expected to write an annual report about their academic and social activities, and achievements at the university.
  • Receipt of the award in subsequent years is subject to satisfactory academic progress.
  • Applicants should be aware that competition for the scheme is very high and the university does not have additional funding for those candidates who are not offered a scholarship.
