Just about anything can happen in the wilds of Africa, and this footage of a desperately acrobatic impala leaping into an automobile to escape a hungry cheetah is all the proof that's needed. According to National Geographic
, the graceful African antelopes are fleet runners who are capable of leaping distances of up to 33 feet (10 meters) often to escape predators and sometimes, apparently, simply to amuse themselves. The impala can also clear obstacles by soaring some 10 feet (3 meters) in the air. The daring one in the video below excuted a jump timed to perfection, living to graze another day. It'll be nice to hear what the tourists involved have to say about their up, close and personal South African wildlife experience.
