Rabat, Morocco, An AFRican's First Impressions

As the plane flew toward the Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca, all I could make out were medina-style buildings flanked by squares of farmland dotted with sheep. It half made up for the Morocco IÃÃ'Ã'Ã'¢d envisaged, but I thought Casablanca was the meeting of Africa and Europe, and all I could see for miles was farmland. I was not complaining though. It was a nice break after being holed in America for two plus years.

I was in Morocco recently and share your sentiments entirely. I think the people of Rabat are decidedly racist. Other places like Marrakech are more comfortable and welcoming.
On the whole I think the Moroccans have a long way to go in spite of their infrastructural advancement. The people need to be better enlightened. Or is it that the monarchy is happy to keep them where they are?
