Us vs. Them
We cannot put the sole blame on Rupert Murdoch for the Diasporic rifts and assumptions about African and African-Americans that has migrained our collective conscious. Long before Mr. Murdoch, the chasm between Africans and African-Americans has been with us for generations, passed down like the gold heirlooms.

My Honorable Friend,

Thank you for receiving this response. First let me say that I speak basically for myself. I am from the U.S.. I am Christian (although non practicing if I may). I have lived in South Africa for over a year with my wife and am now back in the U.S. Most of my friends are from Ghana, Senegal and Nigeria.

It is an unfortunate truth you write about. It is my hope that some accord is found between the nations of Africa themselves and then we of Diaspora. I cannot speak to what you read but we over here are experiencing local and tribal disparity as I read that you are. It  would seem that we both must work on this before any real homecoming. The finished product may not be perfect but it should be workable for your African unifications and then for us with some failsafe mechanisms for all parties and issues included.

We may owe it to ourselves and importantly to the larger global society to agree on the clarity of an African decorum (no more or less than what we see in Europe and elsewhere). Those of us in my community who have not seen and experienced the benefits and wonders Africa holds may not understand what this conversation is about. However, the power structure does and acts to that end (honestly, who can blame them? It is a practical and business position they take). It is also my concern that those of us in my and our community (if I may) are acting responsibly if also commeically to that end.

I believe that the best lens to view this through is one of business and many of my friends already do this. The rest will follow. It is important however to compromise as little as possible those things which are innate to us, maintain our sovereignty and decorum. Honestly it looks to be a long road. But however it is, that is what the gods have called for (no matter what name we give him). It is our test for eternity and so that is what we must do.
